Hi Everyone,
Today’s post is all about my favourite MAC eyeshadows at the moment. I love MAC eyeshadows because they have a huge range of colours and textures and you can usually find what you are looking for. On a daily basis, I tend to mix the brands of eyeshadows I use and it’s usually a combination of Inglot, The Balm (specifically the Nude ‘tude palette) and MAC, so I have just selected the MAC eyeshadows that I have been using the most lately. I have also included swatches at the end of the post.

- Flaunt your favourite eye look with highly pigmented, blendable MAC single eyeshadows, available in a variety of hues and textures.
- Highly pigmented powder. Applies evenly, blends well. Can be used wet or dry. Available in a wide variety of textures and finishes. Usage: Apply to lid using fingers, brush or sponge-tip applicator. To intensify your eye shadow, swipe brush over Eye Shadow. Spray Prep + Prime Fix+ on brush to intensify payoff. Claims: - Dermatologist tested - Ophthalmologist.
Metallic: Metallic eyeshadow is similar to frost eyeshadow, but the hue is usually warmer – think gold and bronze instead of icy blue. These eyeshadows can be used on all skin tones, but they’re especially flattering on darker skin. Pearl: Pearl eyeshadows are generally less pigmented than the ones listed above. There is a slight iridescent. Mac All that Glitters Eyeshadow. There is a proverb that says, “All that glitters is not gold”.
Plumage
Plumage is a matte dark green-blue shade. I remember purchasing this because I heard that it was a great shade for brown eyes – and it is. When I use this shade I tend to use it as a liner by itself or to set my kohl liner. I find that it adds something a little different from the brown and black liner look. To be honest, the pigmentation of this eyeshadow is not the best and I have to build around 3 layers to get the full intensity however, I love the colour.
Brule
My poor Brule had a little mishap when I was depotting it! Nevertheless, it’s your standard cream eyeshadow with a satin finish that is great to put all over the lid, to blend out other eyeshadows, or used as a highlight under the brow. There is nothing particularly special about this shade and I am sure you can find many dupes for it, but it is my most used cream eyeshadow out of my collection.
Bamboo
This shade is probably my most used shade in my entire eyeshadow collection. It is a matte golden brown with peach undertones – think cork but more on the peachy side. I love using this shade in my crease to give my eyes a little extra definition – it is the perfect shade for my skin tone to do this. If I am wearing eyeshadow to work and want something quick and easy that defines my eyes, I will use Brule all over the lid and Bamboo in the crease.

Coquette
This shade is the most versatile out of the bunch and I use it for 3 different purposes: to fill in my brows, to line my upper lash line and to define my crease. It is a grey-toned brown that is smooth and easy to apply. I have black brows and therefore I stray away from the warm browns when I’m filling them in and opt for something on the cooler side like Coquette. If I am filling in my brows with a powder, this is my go-to shade. It’s definitely a shade worth checking out!
Patina
This shade is highly raved about – and for a good reason! I don’t have any other shade like this in my collection. MAC describe it as a taupe brown with golden pearl and a frost finish. It’s smooth, pigmented and easy to apply. This shade is perfect for all over the lid and the golden pearl that MAC describes gives it a gold or a rose gold iridescence depending on how the light hits it. Sounds amazing right? This shade is shimmery, but not at all glittery. It’s perfect by itself or you could add a darker colour in your crease to smoke it out. I usually pair this with Coquette
